~ Kelly, Library Media Specialist Yes, that's correct... the audio recording booth at Lyons is NOW OPEN.
The booth includes:
You can book the audio recording booth online, but don't forget to check out the policy/procedures page too. Happy recording! ~ Kelly, Library Media Specialist You may have heard through the grapevine that Lyons was getting its very own audio recording booth... well, the rumours are right!
However, it's not quite ready just yet. But soon! We are looking to make it available for booking requests as of the end of the month of February. Watch for further news and details as they unfold! When it is available, we will post about it here, on social media, and it will be added to our bookings page. ~ Kelly, Library Media Specialist There has been some confusion over the last few weeks about what kind of equipment we have available in the Lyons New Media Centre and what the rules are around usage of said equipment.
Let's see if we can break it down a bit, shall we? ~ by Glenesha, LNMC Student Employee Create a short film in 24 hours! There will be amazing prizes to be won and an unforgettable experience to have!
The McMaster 24 Hour Film Festival has been around since 2012. Hosted by Lyons New Media Centre, the event is where teams of students will enter to compete for prizes. We are calling all aspiring filmmakers and creative minds to participate in the ultimate showdown of video production skills! The format of the Kick-Off event starts with meeting at Lyons New Media Centre on Friday, February 10th, 2017 @ 4:00pm. You will be given your three key elements (a randomly assigned prop, line of dialogue and location) that you must incorporate into your short video and all other essential instructions for the competition. ~ Kelly, Library Media Specialist In an earlier post, it was mentioned that there are quite a few dates in the next two months that the main room computers in Lyons will not be available.
This is a friendly reminder that this will be true of the entire day tomorrow (July 14/16), due to a day-long workshop being held in Lyons. If you need a media editing computer, you can still book one of our two Edit Studios (L415 or L416) for two hours. If you need longer, speak to the Help Desk staff to see if we can arrange something, dependent upon demand. |
