The McMaster 24 Hour Film Challenge kick-off event happens today @ 4pm in the Hamilton Public Library, Central Library downtown!
If you are planning on participating, don't forget to register at http://m24.ca now! We will be accepting registrations up until the start of the event both online and in-person. Can't make it in-person? Not a problem! Tune into the live stream on the M24 website (linked above), or YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V9_dx7T3io ). We will also be live-Tweeting (https://twitter.com/mcmaster24) through the event. Good luck to all participating teams! Due to a scheduled workshop, the computers in the main room of Lyons will be unavailable from 12:30pm to 3pm on Monday, May 14/18. The computers in the Edit Studios (L415 & L416) will still be available. (Just remember to book them.)
This Saturday (May 12) is May@Mac at McMaster University. Traditionally, Lyons New Media Centre has been closed on Saturdays all summer, including the May@Mac open house, but this year is different!
Both because it's May@Mac and because the McMaster 24 Hour Film Challenge runs from Friday, May 11 to Saturday, May 12, Lyons will be open for a few hours, from 11:00am to 3:00pm! Whether you will be touring the campus for the open house and decide to swing by Mills Library to check things out, or are planning on participating in the Film Challenge and will need to use our computers and software to edit your film, please feel free to pop in! The Lyons New Media Centre is located on the 4th floor of Mills Memorial Library on the main campus. Yep, that's right! The M24 is back, baby!
Keep an eye on the McMaster 24 Hour Fillm Challenge website for updates, especially for when team registration will open. Are you excited? We are! ~ by Kelly, Library Media Specialist The kick-off event for the McMaster University 24 Hour Film Fest is THIS FRIDAY!!
What is it? Have a look at our earlier post about the M24 for more information, but basically, participants create a 5-minute film in 24 hours, competing against other teams to potentially win some pretty sweet prizes. Interested in participating? Great! Don't forget to register! Want to participate but don't have a team? You might want to show up at Lyons New Media Centre on Friday, February 10 @ 4pm to see if any of the teams are looking for a few extra hands. You might be able to join in that way. See you there! |
