We have been made aware that our 3D Print Request form is not functioning. We've reported the problem and the web team is working on it. We hope to get it sorted as soon as possible.
Sorry for the inconvenience! ~ Kelly, Library Media Specialist The Lyons new booking system is now available off-campus! Sorry about the delay but thank you to UTS and Library IT for helping get this all sorted out!
~ Kelly, Library Media Specialist For those of you missing Lynda.com access in Lyons, it is time to rejoice!
This amazing service has been brought back to you -- campus-wide! All McMaster students, faculty and staff have full access to lynda.com now! Read the full story at the McMaster Daily News site, or pop over to UTS' Lynda.com portal page to learn about the service, and access Lynda today! ~ Kelly, Library Media Specialist Please note that we have had reports of individuals being unable to access our new booking system from off campus. We are aware of the situation and have contacted UTS about the problem. They have reassured us that off-campus access should be available after 4am tomorrow morning.
In the meantime, you are still able to access the system while on campus, while using a computer in the library or your own mobile device via wi-fi (confirmed by a student yesterday that they were able to pull the system up on their phone yesterday afternoon while using the campus wi-fi). Sorry for the inconvenience! ~ Kelly, Library Media Specialist As of this morning, the Lyons New Media Centre has rolled out its new booking system. All you need is your MacID and password to login to the new system, then just start booking things like you normally would.
The big change in the new system is the ability to reserve bookings for camera equipment through this system. Prior to this, a Google form had been filled out and there was no calendar available to see what was available versus not available. With this new system, each camera, tripod and even the portable green screen can be seen in a calendar type of view and reserved easily. The procedure remains the same, however -- until you receive that confirmation email from Lyons staff telling you the camera equipment is booked, it is not booked. Please note that the system adds a 30 minute buffer on the start and another one at the end of camera equipment bookings to allow time to check the camera equipment, charge batteries, etc. The gaming stations, edit studios and the newly renamed presentation practice space (formerly the consultation room) can be booked in the same fashion, but the bookings for these are automatic, just like the old system. Please note that when you go into Schedule > Bookings on the site, the navigation is along the top, not the left side. The left box is for filtering your results. The navigation to change from the room schedule to, say, the gaming schedule, is handled with a drop-down menu to the right of the schedule title (see the image above). Don't forget to fill out the handy-dandy (and very short) survey about the new system! |
